Orlando motorcycle collision kills pedestrian and injures biker

During the summer time, more and more motorcycles are seen traveling the roadways throughout Florida. Whether they are a resident or just passing through on a vacation, motorcyclist should take various precautions to avoid a collision with another vehicle, bicyclists or pedestrian. Being fully aware of their surrounds will help ensure that they do not collide with another vehicle or person. Failure to follow the rules of the road and travel safely could result in a serious motorcycle collision that could result in injuries and even death.

Authorities in Orlando recently responded to a motorcycle collision that involved a motorcyclist and a pedestrian. According to preliminary reports, the pedestrian-motorcycle crash occurred around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Colonial Drive. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the pedestrian was pronounced dead. The motorcyclist was injured and was transported to the hospital for treatment. The condition of the biker was not released.

The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities have not made any speculations about cause or liability. In this matter, one or both parties could have caused or contributed to the collision. Even if an individual contributed to the crash, if they are less than 50% liable, they could file a cause of action for compensation. The injured could file a personal injury claim or the loved ones of the deceased could file a wrongful death lawsuit.

A civil action could provide compensation for the losses and damages endured by an injured party or the loved ones of a deceased. The monetary award could be utilized to offset costs associated with the crash. This could cover expenses, such as medical bills, funeral costs, lost wages, loss of companionship and pain and suffering.

Following a fatal accident, the investigation process could take some time to establish cause and liability. During this phase, those involved should seek to understand how they can handle the situation. Filing a civil claim could offer many benefits to those affected, especially if they are enduring financial hardships following the crash.
